PDFs not opening automatically being sent to downloads

Since the last update when I receive a PDF document and click to open it, Adobe sends the document to my download folder. I thien have to go to the download folder to open the file and while loading it comes up with some funky message about getting the document ready. Has anyone else run into this?

Actually, Adobe aren't involved until you open it from the Downloads folder. Are you trying to open from a browser? Crome maybe? An email app? Something else?

Funky messages are all very well but we like to know what they actually say, word for word. We're funny that way...
