How does one permanently close the right-hand tools pane in Acrobat Reader DC.  I'm viewing PDF files using Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 browser, and when I use the browser's back button to return to a previously viewed PDF (originally viewed without the right-hand tools pane), it opens up the right-hand tools pane.

    Hi Chrisp,

I am sorry, but it's not possible to permanently keep Adobe Reader DC in Read Mode

The Read mode cannot be defined at the application level, only at the document level, but for that, you'll need Acrobat.

However, pressing Ctrl+L will automatically switch to the full-screen mode, and you won't need to use the mouse.

    Hi Chrisp,

As per the description above you want to disable the Right Hand Tools Pane in Acrobat Reader DC, Is that correct?

I am sorry, but there is no such option to turn off the Tools pane permanently in Acrobat Reader DC.

You might choose to open the PDF in read mode to hide those panels.

Or you may try the steps to close the Tools pane in Acrobat Reader DC from the following link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/disable-right-hand-pane-in-acrobat-reader.html

    Hi Anand,

Thanks; I appreciate the reply (but am extremely disappointed in the answer).

Is there a way to permanently keep Adobe Reader DC in Read Mode?

    Thanks,

    Chris
