Persistent Popup Using Acrobat Reader DC

I just downloaded Acrobat Reader DC on my brand new "OK" HP Envy laptop. Every time I make a PDF, which is 15-20 times/day, there's a popup asking if I want to "Keep using this app." I've selected it and clicked "OK" dozens of times and still keeps popping up. I have the correct reader selected in my settings for Windows 10. I tried getting help from HP as well as Avast Support technicians with no resolution. I have this app on my other laptop as well as my PC and it works without issues. Can anyone help?

    Hello Johnsceleste,

    We're sorry for the trouble you had with Adobe Reader app and making it default PDF handler. Please click on the option available in the pop-up 'Always use this app to open .pdf file' then click OK.

    You can also refer and try the suggestion from the following Adobe article Associate PDF files to always open in Acrobat or Reader on Windows 10

    Also, check for any pending updates of Adobe Reader installed from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after updating Adobe Reader.

    Thank you but I've tried all of that already. That's why I titled the thread Persistent. I have it set as my default and I've clicked the icon under Keep using this app and clicked OK dozens of times. As I mentioned before, 2 different IT specialists have checked and been unable to resolve my issue. Can you?

    We're sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. Please install the latest patch of Adobe Reader from DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products and see if the issue still persists.

    If you still experience any issue, use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove Adobe Reader Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

    Reboot the machine and install the latest version of Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
