Problem opening files in Acrobat Reader

I started having trouble opening Adobe PDF files and get a message saying that "Adobe Acrobat could not open XXXXXDocx because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't decoded correctly) - this is not the case as I have been working with these files forever, I need help!

Recently always facing problems with opening Adobe Acrobat files / loading not responding, at Home desktop and office desktop as well. can any one assist to this matter

Has anybody found a solution for this issue yet? I use a lot of adobe stock images for work and they never open and I get the same 'could not open..' dialogue box. I have to go into acrobat, then select open file then select 'all files' from the drop down and then they appear and I can open them.

its incredibly frustrating as I go through a lot of images daily. its only started happening this year.i'm assuming there was an update or a change to adobe stock file types? it seems its not recognising them.

Any ideas would be great.
