Problem with a PDF file only opening once

Hi, i am having trouble opening a pdf file a second time. It will open initially but if i try again it says it is damaged or not correctly decoded?   This has only started happening fairly recently so not sure what’s happening.  Anybody know why and how to fix this?

    I am having the same issue. I have had IT trying to sort it out. Also only happened the past few months. Very frustrating

    Diana - it appears that it was my McAfee real time scanning that was causing the issue.  I turned it off and it seemed to fix it.  I have now deleted McAfee and installed trend micro and so far no issues. Fingers crossed.

    Hope you are doing well. Sorry for the trouble with using Acrobat Reader.

     

    Do you see this issue when opening files received through Outlook, opening them directly in your web browser, or opening locally saved files?

     

    Also, a screen recording of the entire event, along with the application version number (go to Menu > Help > About Acrobat) would be great to understand and investigate further.

    1. The pdf may open once in outlook once but will not open a second time. Old saved pdf's will open ok. It seems that it is an outlook problem. Screenshot 2026-02-02 143944

      If i save to a file then it will open but if not and i try to open again from outlook then it comes up with error message above.

      It is not always convenient nor possible to save as a file immediately.

    I tried the workflow on my end, and it worked fine.

     

    Would you mind updating the app to the latest version (25.1.211xx) for the best experience?

    To check for updates, go to Menu > Help > Check for Updates.
