Problem with Adobe Reader being frozen; cannot access ANYTHING

I pulled two documents into Adobe so I could read them and print them. I still am not that familiar with Adobe, so I touched an icon above the documents. It looked like a light shining on a desk. After I did that, a smaller screen popped up that is all white, and only the red button is available--not the yellow or green. Also, I cannot do ANYTHING!! All of the possibles under each heading are faded. NOTHING works. And the red button does NOT get rid of the smaller white screen. HELP!! Everything is frozen. More help, please. Why can't I undo touching that icon??

Hi. I am New User and wrote the above problem. Here is how I finally got rid of the frozen screen. I did a FORCE QUIT. I held down Option Command and Escape. A screen pops up with the names of open apps that I could choose. Thank goodness Adobe Reader was there! All I did was select it, and touch the Blue Force Quit bar, and POOF! Adobe Reader closed. When i opened it again, the frozen element was gone. I could once again use the app!! I noticed some people viewed my problem. Now, I hope they view the solution I came up with. Good bye for now. I don't know how to remove my problem, but since the/a solution is now a part of it, perhaps this will help someone else in need!
