Hello @avid_epicnessc9da

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We’re sorry for the trouble you had.

Could you please share more details about the issue? Are you on a Mac or Windows machine, and what is the version?

Are you using Acrobat, or the freeware Reader desktop app?

Are you getting any error message, like the one shared in the oiriginal post? Can you please share a screenshot of the error message?

Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine: 26.002.21869, Planned update, Aug 31, 2026. Check for any pending updates by navigating to Menu > Help> Check for Updates. Install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

Let us know how it goes, and please reach out if you need any assistance.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

I'm having the same issue. I've followed the same steps and it still doesn't work. If I don't sort it soon I'll cancel my subscription as I'm not paying for a product I can't use

I had the same thing happen. Then I used the suggestion to sign out of all Adobe products and realized that I had been using the Rear unde an Adobe ID different from the one under which I purchaed the Pro. Whan I logged out and then logged in using the the coorect Adobe ID, everything was just fine. Great product, BTW.

Hi @Cynthia27100405zuub,

Hope you are doing well. Sorry for your experience with Acrobat Reader.

Please run the Acrobat cleaner tool https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html, reboot the computer once, and install the application using the direct link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html and see if that works for you.

Hope this helps.

Do you really expect us to pay for a "premium" version and then have to go through this ridiculous process?

I agree! This is UNACCEPTABLE!
