Rasterizer Module Issue

I use Acrobat Reader on a 2011 MacBook Pro running Sierra 10.12.6  Suddenly, the app will not run.  I get the error message "Initialization of the rasterizer module failed." This occurs whether I try to open a pdf directly or I try to open the app first.  Apple says they cannot help with this.  What is the solution?

    Hi Saulr,

If this problem still persists, i request you to trash your Reader(Please make sure to empty your trash as well off the reader) and reinstall from here: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions.

Please let us know if this worked for you.

    Thanks

    Hi Saulr,

Would you please try installing the latest update of Adobe Reader DC and see if the latest patch would help resolving this issue?

Launch Acrobat Reader DC>Help>Check for update.

Still doesn't help, then try uninstalling the application and reinstall through the- Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

Let us know if it doesn't help.
