Rdrcef.exe - Application Error 0xc0000409 0x010dd101

Adobe Reader DC is causing a 'crash' every time it is launched:

"RdrCEF.exe - Application Error

The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x010dd101.

Click OK to terminate the program."

I have seen a few of these but there doesn't seem to be any resolution - I have tried disabling 'Enable Protected Mode' and also completely uninstalling and reinstalling the application.

Our PCs do not have internet connection so there is no way for Adobe Reader to check for updates? Could this be causing the issue? (I have updated the app to the most recent version but still the error occurs).

Any help please?

    Hi Lukebb,

We apologize for not being able to reply to you on time.

Our PCs do not have internet connection so there is no way for Adobe Reader to check for updates? Could this be causing the issue? (I have updated the app to the most recent version but still the error occurs).

Are you experiencing this issue on multiple PCs? How about repairing installation? Open Reader>Help>Repair Installation.

You did mention about having the most recent version, could you confirm the exact version of Reader DC? Open Reader>Help>Check for update.

Is there a way you can install the latest patch released in Feb 2019? DC Release Notes — Release Notes for Acrobat DC Products

Let us know if you have managed to find the solution.

    Thanks,
