RdrCEF.exe crashes, memory leak

Reporting an Issue: Adobe Reader DC 15.023.20056 installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 OS.

I observe memory leak due to RdrCEF.exe crashes.

Is there a solution for this already by Adobe team ? If yes, please share the solution.

Hi Govardhagovinda,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

I would request/recommend to always keep the application updated via Help->Check for updates... as we keep improving the product. Once you are at latest version of Reader DC, Please share the following information if issue still persist :

  • Platform/OS information
  • Application version information
  • Exact steps to reproduce the issue and screen shot of the error
  • Screenshot of the Task manager shown AcroRd32 and RdrCEF processes.
  • Download Shared Files - Acrobat.com  and share the memory dump file of crashing process RdrCEF.exe

Hi Govardhangovinda,

Please try the repair installation of the application and for testing purpose, try turning the Protected Mode off and then see if you get the error.

Also, please confirm the OS and application versions and if you are using the application on a personal machine or your work machine.
