Re: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC has stopped working

I still get the problem after installing the patch. It seems to often (but not always) happen when I am trying to highlight, insert a text box, or draw with the pencil tool. I do this frequently for articles. Very frustrating as I never know when it will happen (no pattern, seemingly no rhyme or reason) so I usually end up losing some notes because I don't save after every note I make (that would be highly cumbersome, even using hotkeys).

I'm running Windows 10 Home 64 bit (v. 1607, build 14393.693)

Core i5, 12GB RAM

ThinkPad T450s

*update: crashed again within 5 minutes of restarting the program. Also, not sure if this is relevant, but sometimes there is significant lag when navigating in the document and adding comments (text, draw tool, highlight, etc.).  This happens even when I only have 1 PDF open. This does not happen on other free PDF readers I have used; on those, such commenting and scrolling is sharp and fast.

    Hi dave1342

Could you please also confirm whether you are using Acrobat or Reader? And also the version you are on? Also, would it be possible for you to share the crash dumps with us? (you can send it to asmittal@adobe.com)

Does it happen with all files or some specific files only?

    Thanks,

    -ashu

    Hi ashu,

    I am using Reader, v. 2015.023.20056

    File version 15.023.20056.16516

    AGM 4.030.00067

    CoolType 5.014.00017

    Core 15.5888

    JP2K 1.002.00002.37658

I'll share the crash dumps as soon as it occurs again. And it seems to happen with any file; I haven't noticed whether there are any files that escape the issue. But it definitely has happened with a variety of files, mostly text documents (academic books and articles).

*Update: tried to create crash dump report, WinDbg gave me an "access is denied" message. Screenshots attached.
