@DanielJordan it's a mismatch issue when trying to install the Asian Language and Spelling Dictionaries for Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. The error message "Adobe Acrobat Reader 23.008.20421 or later must be installed before proceeding with this installation" clearly indicates that the installer you're using (AcroRdrALSDx64_2300820421_all_DC.msi) is looking for a specific minimum version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is 23.008.20421. However, you have version 2025.001.20577 installed. While 2025 is a newer release year than 22 or 23, Adobe's version numbering for Acrobat Reader can sometimes be a bit confusing. It seems the installer for the language pack is strictly checking for a build number from the "23.x.x" series, not just a newer year.

You Need the Latest Language Pack Installer for Your Specific Version/Channel first: https://get.adobe.com/reader/
Try finding and downloading the language pack installer specifically designed for your 2025 version of Acrobat Reader DC, you should be able to bypass the version check error and successfully install the Asian Font and Spelling Dictionaries.

@creative explorer - There’s certainly an issue here with the 2025 language pack I think.

Just had to give an end user a workaround to use Edge rather than Adobe Acrobat for international (Chinese) files.

I can’t share a screenshot as the content of the affected PDF is confidential, however all the Chinese characters are missing when opened with Adobe Acrobat, whereas it will open with Edge OK.

This also seems to have a connection to the “https://cgi1.adobe.com” domain.
