Reader DC 15.007.20033 keeps updating to new version

Hello,

i'm running Reader DC 15.007.20033 on Windows 8.1 and for some reason the application keeps updating to a newer version despite my efforts to prevent it.

this is what i dit so far;

used DC Customization Wizard to prevent application to update, these settings seem to work because there a no longer options to update to application from the help menu and also there is no "updater" section anymore within the preferences. Users report they get a popup in which the application offers to install an newer version. Users say "no" but the application still intalls a new version. Maybe this is caused by the "Acrobat Updater Service"-service so i disabled the service.

Problem still occurs. I haven't been able to reproduce this myself but the user has reported it multiple times. so far i haven't been able to fix it.

Am i missing something? - thanks in advance

(i have specific reasons to stay on this version so i don't want to update)
