Reader DC suddenly stopped running

I had Reader DC running on Windows 7 for several months and then it suddenly stopped with message file api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing. I was instructed to uninstall and download / reinstall Reader DC. This install will not open; it gives message Core DLL failed to load. The  messages and conditions are (1) Newer version already installed; (2) No Adobe showing up on the program list; (3) Cleaner does not find any installation. How can I get Adobe Reader back and running?

    Hello Michaelf,

We're sorry for the trouble you had, please reboot the machine once and install the C runtime file in Windows 7 operating system, refer to the following URL for obtaining the Windows update https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows

You may also refer and try the suggestion from Error 1722 while installing/updating Acrobat DC/Acrobat Reader DC on Windows

Resolve the Acrobat Failed To Load Core DLL error when launching Reader

Reboot the machine and install Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.
