Reader does not open on Windows 10 since 19.010.20064 update

I can't open Adobe Reader anymore since the latest update a couple of days ago. Worse, I can't uninstall it, either. The uninstaller keeps claiming it is running, but it doesn't show in Task Manager. I tried rebooting, no joy. Windows 10 Professional 64-bit version 1803.

Hello Cbron,

We're sorry for the trouble you had with Adobe Reader, please collect the log files of the machine on which you are facing the issue, I have shared the steps to collect the log files by direct/private message. Please collect the log files, use Adobe Send feature to upload the log files, and share the link by direct message only How Do I Send Private Message

Once you have collected the log files, please reboot the machine once, use Acrobat cleaner tool to remove any corrupt or conflicting installation files of Adobe Reader Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Reboot the machine again and download Adobe Reader from Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

Locate the setup and right-click and choose 'Run as Administrator'.

If the issue persists, please create a test user profile with full admin rights and install Adobe Reader and check.

Let us know how it goes and share your observation.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

Thanks Anand. I rebooted and was able to remove Acrobat Reader. Then I cleaned the registry entries and rebooted again. Then I reinstalled and all is well now.
