Reader Open errors

I continually get the following when opening any PDF with Reader: 

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022)."

    Hello Stevepamc,

    We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, when you open a PDF file in Adobe Reader, you get an error message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022).", is that correct?

    Please try the following steps to resolve the issue:

    • Save your work and close all the applications.
    • Run the repair for the of Microsoft visual C++ 2013 Redistributable(x64&x86) and try again.

            To repair: Go to > Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features > Visual C++ Redistributable 2013 (right click            and repair)

    If the issue persists, please share the following details so that we can assist you in a better manner:

    Here’s the version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. I think it’s current….

    I don’t have Microsoft Visual C++ 2013…..the last one on my system appears to be 2012….

    I downloaded and installed the Visual C++ 2013 support....so far so good...

    I see my screen prints did show up.....Acrobat version is 18.011.20040

    I've opened several PDFs and not seen the error again....
