Reader Stays Open After Quick Print from Outlook

We recently updated Acrobat Reader to the most recent version and when we try to quick print in Outlook, the Acrobat Reader window opens minimized and never closes. The document is printing correctly. The issue I'm running into is when the user leaves for the day, they do not close the blank Adobe Acrobat Reader window that opened.

 

When they come in the next day, the Adobe Acrobat Reader window is closed, but there are 2 instances of Adobe Reader running in the background (if you check the task manager). When the user tries to print, the prints fail until we force close Adobe Reader from the Task Manager. Also, each time the user failts to print, a new Acrobat window is opened in the background.

Please let us know if the issue started recently. It would be helpful if you could share the screen recording of the workflow.

Share the Outlook and OS versions on the machine. We will try to replicate the behavior on our end.

The issue started last week when we ran the updates for Acrobat. I'm not sure how out of date Acrobat was before the updates were ran. I do not think I'll be able to provide a screen recording since it only happens when we leave the PC running over the weekend.

 

The user is running Windows 10 and the Outlook version is:

Microsoft Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2308 Build 16.0.16731.20182) 64-bit

Version 2308 Build 16731.20234

Hi JakeNotStateFarm,

 

Please confirm if you mean that the issue occurs only when you leave the system running over the weekend. Otherwise, the problem does not happen.

We will require a screen recording of what happens to further investigate this issue as we were not able to reproduce the issue in-house.

I forgot to include the version we're using. We're currently using Adobe Acrobat Reader Continous Release Version 2023.006.20320 - 64 Bit
