Reader Version: 15.023.20070.19033

This version of reader now prints the page bottom out first; the opposite of the older versions!

The older version printed the top of the page out first as Microsoft Word does.

So what happens, since I print on both sides, if I forget to rotate the page it gets printed upside down - not good!

How do I fix this?

    Michael,

Take a look at the attached, in particular where I have drawn the red arrow.

Would you check to see if it matters whether the Auto portrait/landscape is checked or the Portrait button is checked. I think this might be happening because I have the Auto print button checked.

    Sincerely,

    Hi Torisimo,

Sorry, I've been traveling internationally and haven't had access to a printer to investigate this any deeper. I still believe this is a function of the printer itself and not Reader, but I'll do some experiments to see.

Im guessing you have blank forms in the paper tray, and now suddenly the forms are printed upside down? Or is there some other factor that makes page direction critical?

    Michael.

I went back and loaded a version of 9 and 11 and they too printed upside down. I was wrong.

The print preview screen displays MS Word and Reader correctly – top to bottom.

MS Word comes out of the printer with the top of the page coming out first.

Reader, however, comes out of the printer with the bottom of the page coming out first.

Why does Word come out of the printer correctly?

Does the print from Reader come out of your printer with the bottom coming out first?

Does Adobe expect the print to come out bottom first?

I don’t change any settings on the printer when I print – an HP LaserJet P1006.

This is especially true when I print my taxes. Had it done this upside down print I would have noticed it right away.

I have absolutely no clue why this is happening. The thing is, I never noticed this in the past with the older versions of Reader.

    Any help would greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Terry

    Dear Torisemo,

The order of printing is usually a function of the printer driver. When you print from Reader, choose "Properties" next to the printer selection, and adjust your printer settings there.

    Please!

This has nothing to do with the printer settings. This has to do with Adobe changing how a correctly displayed document in the printer mode is turned upside down when it is printed. It used to print correctly in older versions. It used to print correctly like Word documents.

I print one sheet at a time and then turn the sheet over and print on the back side so I know what I am talking about. I have been doing this for more than twenty-five years. Now if I forget to turn the output around before printing on the back it is upside down. Instead of the top of the page coming out first – the correct way the bottom comes out first.

Take and old version of Adobe and the new version and compare the outputs.

    Sincerely,

    Terry Holmes
