Reading any PDF file & downloding to print

For months, I receive this error and cannot properly download nor print any PDF files sent to me. Please help... This is affecting my business.

Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open " named file" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). This is with everything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still the issue persists. This error is the same and from various companies who send me documents, many of which are large brand name companies.

Side Note: This evening, I was sent a Microsoft Word.doc, yet when I click to download it, it is converted to a PDF and then I get the error.

It is not converted to PDF. My guess is you somehow associated Word files with Reader, which won't work. You need to re-associate them with Word. Reader can only open PDF files (and in some cases AI files).
