Recent difficulties with ADE

For many years I have had trouble free borrowing from Borrow Box.

Having changed my computer and moved from Windows 10 to Windows 11 I have experienced difficulties.

I can borrow a book, download it to the computer and so read it but the transfer to my e-reader via Adobe Digital Editions no longer functions.

I have ensured that the edition of ADE is current, even dis-installing and installing again but on opening the app I am confronted with a blank page. The top line with "File Edit Reading Help" is all that appears, there is no list of books borrowed, "Help" indicates it is authorised to the computer but downloaded thumb print fails to open.

 

Can you please advise as I have no further ideas

    Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately ADE 3.0 requires NET Framework 3.5 service pack 1, which presents an error 0x800F0922 during installation. It appears to have no resolution for windows 11

    @PhilipJohn Chances are that Borrow Box is not supported on Windows 11. It likely triggered a specific issue because Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is older software that struggles with high-resolution screens and newer security settings.

     

    Many library users (including those using BorrowBox and Kobo) find that ADE Version 3.0 is much more stable for transferring books. Here is the direct link for that app:

    I failed to find any thing through a right click that gave me a "more" and Run as Administrator.

    I just managed to transfer a book!  I right clicked on the Adobe Digital Editions - More - Run As Administrator.  Magically, the blank page I’d been getting, had the book I wanted to transfer to my KOBO.  Maybe give that a try.
