Recent Update 2025.001.20744 Breaks Printing from Acrobat Reader in Windows 11

A few devices recently updated to version 2025.001.20744. Printing to a printer only prints blank pages, and printing to a pdf software throws the errors:

"The document could not be printed, kindly use our help page to troubleshoot." followed by a second error

"An error occured while printing the document, kindly use our help page to troubleshoot.

Selecting the "Print As Image" option from the advanced printer settings allows printing.

Installed previous version 2025.001.20693 on an affected laptop and it was able to print normally without requiring the print as image option.

Windows Version: Windows 11 24H2.

Hello @len_6017

I hope you are doing well, and I am sorry for the delayed response.

The issue has been addressed in the latest build of Acrobat and Acrobat Reader: 25.001.20844 for Windows and 25.001.20841 for Mac, released on November 3, 2025. Please ensure you have the latest version of Acrobat installed on the machine. Check for any pending updates by navigating to Menu > Help> Check for Updates. Install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

Let us know if you experience any issues.

Thanks,

Anand Sri.

I have had the same issue on 3 different employee computers and narrowed it down to being this release of reader as well. We are also running Windows 11 24H2. Some PDF's will print partial pages and others just print completely blank pages for every page of a document. I had also found that "Print As Image" does resolve the issue as a temporary workaround as well. I've been installing an alternative PDF application for the time being

rip out the adobe install and reinstall from scratch (offline installer suggested when paying for bandwidth).  this will work until the "adobe updater" run again and bricks your install - AGAIN!

do these devs even test their releases before pushing for public / commercial use?

The issues are occuring on Windows 10 and 11 on our network.

We've been having a lot of similar weirdness on 20744 - with images in pdfs truncated or not printing fully, but will print in some circumstances. We've found that 'fit' or 'shrink oversized pages' produces this error, but actual size or 'multiple' doesn't. It's crippled us since Friday, and been through all aspects of our inhouse printing.  I've attached a pdf of just one example - where full page test photos would truncate, but then be fine on a 'multiple' print instead.

Following the recent update to Adobe Acrobat Reader version 25.001.20744, we’ve encountered consistent issues when printing PDFs on Windows 10 21H2 LTSC.

I have a post about on this thread linked here - https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/printing-issues-with-acrobat-reader-v25-001-20744-on-windows-10-ltsc/m-p/15526244#M520917

This looks like a bug in version 2025.001.20744. Rolling back to 2025.001.20693 or using “Print as Image” are the current workarounds. Best to report it as a known issue so Adobe can patch it in the next update.
