Replacing existing detail.

How can I replace existing subject matter in an ABODE/PDF file>  Although I live in the UK I am advised that the manual is not available to me!    A hand goes across the screen,and an arrow,but they do not engage onto the subject matter.  Help me please, in simple language.

I am a 78 year old lady trying to do her best!!

    Would you please let us know what exactly you want to achieve. Do you have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader?

    Thanks for your email. I seem to have solved the problem by pressing a lot of buttons and unlocking my security password! It was doing the job too well.
