Request: Option to Disable Content Shifting When Switching Tabs in New Acrobat

Dear Adobe Team,

Since the introduction of the “New Acrobat” interface, I have noticed that when switching between tabs, the visible PDF content briefly reloads and shifts slightly. For precise layout and graphic comparisons, this behavior is problematic, as it disrupts exact visual positioning.

Workaround: Using Disable New Acrobat and reverting to the classic interface prevents this behavior entirely.

Suggestion: Please consider adding an option in “New Acrobat” to disable this automatic re-rendering or shifting when switching tabs, or restore the previous behavior by default. This change could benefit not only my workflow but likely other users who rely on pixel-accurate comparisons as well.

Thank you very much for your attention and support.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thank you for sharing your detailed feedback and observation about the “New Acrobat” interface. We understand how important precise layout and graphic comparisons are for your workflow, and how the reloading/shift when switching tabs can be disruptive.

What is the version of the Acrobat Application and the OS you are using? Go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure it's updated to the latest version, 25.01.20623. Then, go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once. Also, share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for more clarity.

The workaround you mentioned, disabling the New Acrobat experience, is currently the most effective way to avoid this behavior. I will forward your suggestion to our product team so they can review the possibility of adding an option to disable this re-rendering in the new interface or restoring the previous behavior by default.
