Scanning with Acrobat from HP Envy 6152e Problem

Just installed a new HP Envy 6152e printer on my MacBook Air Sequioa 15.5 computer.  Black&White and Text scanning in Acrobat is fine. Color scanning always returns "The selected Color format is not supported."  Only the ICA format can be used!

Suggestions very welcome - Thanks - Jef

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

Please check for any pending/missing updates for the scanner driver and firmware and try updating it.
You may also try to remove the scanner driver from the system, reboot and then reinstall it from the manufacturers website and see if that helps.

Also check the correct answer marked in the similar discussion (https://adobe.ly/3FUOUdO ) and see if that works for you.

Hi Amal - did all what you suggested and nothing helps.  I'm using now HP Smart on my MacBook Air for scanning and that works great. Only the integration with Acrobat PRO is missing , so you always a number of additional steps in the document creation and editing process. This means that at least  for me a 1/3 of the Acrobat PRO features I pay for I don't use anymore and are now done by HP Smart.

In my opinion the Acrobat App to HP printer app interface is lacking behind.  Are there any relase notes available about the integration testing of Acrobat PRO with the HP 6100 Series printers?

Have a nice day!

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that the issue still persists.

The error "The selected color format is not supported. Only the ICA format can be used" when scanning with Adobe Acrobat and an HP printer usually indicates an issue with the scanner driver or color settings. To resolve this, try updating the scanner driver, checking for firmware updates for your printer, or using the HP printer driver app and see if that works.

Also go to Preferences (Ctrl,CMD+K) > Color Management and check the color settings and see if that works.
