I want to ask how to protect a pdf file so that it´s distribution is limited. I need something more than password settings, I want to prevent multiple people from being able to send a file to each other. Is it possible to set a limit to open for only one person?

You could never stop any file from being shared, but security does exist that can control who could open that shared file. This is called "DRM". Adobe's solution is part of the enterprise product AEM, I think. Requires a full time server to manage access. Price by negotiation but think in terms of 5-6 figures per year.
