Hi,

We are facing an issue where acrobat refuses to auto update and we need to get clients updated due to vulnerabilities in the adobe version we currently run.

After enabling verbose logging I get this error log.

[2023-06-26 09:51:13:0697] Adobe ARM 1.824.460.1047 logging finished.

Now I understand that I can try and manually update but this is not an option as there are some 200 machines out of 1000 exibiting this issue.

thanks

The message suggests this copy of Reader has never been used, and the EULA has therefore not been accepted. Can you check if the update completes if you once run Reader and accept the EULA on that machine?

I really hope youre not right because tha would be the dumbest decision ever, not to shoot the messenger.

Heres our product thats no vulnerable to hackers but you need to open to it and agree to our free terms of use before we'll let you update 😄

I now hoping that someone has a work around ratehr than ask 200 users in 5 different countries to open and then close adobe manually 🙂

Thanks for the tip I'll open the product and then clos eit see what occurs.

I thought when companies took out the Reader Redistribution License that they were sent info on customizing and updating. Perhaps Adobe gave that up. There is a lot of documentation here -- https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/index.html --on customization, including accepting the EULA, which the Redistribution License allows you to do on your user's behalf. Unfortunately, I suspect this had to be done as part of a custom deployment rather than later.
