I want to share an Adobe Reader PDF file to someone but I don't want that this person being able to modify it. How can I do ?? I have tried to disabled the "allow comments" option, but the person who received the file is able to modify it !    Can you help me please ?  Thanks !  (excuse my English, it's not my first language).

There is nothing you can do.

it's very strange ! I was thinking that there must surely be a way to transmit a pdf document without the recipient being able to change the content of the document..

The reason it's mentioned there's nothing you can do about this is because you are using the freeware Acrobat Reader.

With Acrobat Pro, you can apply restrictions and prevent document editing(only for document you own or created ). You can change the document properties and decide what to allow or what doesn't. Something like this:

Try applying a digital signature [All tools>Use a certificate> Digitally Sign ] on the file as a workaround and then share. Is the end user still being able to edit the file?

Thanks,
