Since Chrome update Adobe extension won't open fill-able PDFs. IE works fine still, and plain pdfs work fine.

Asks for update, on latest Adobe versions (whether it be Reader DC or Acrobat)
Removing extensions and re-adding hasn't work.

It's been a while yes. You may not have run across any XFA forms until now. It's not that the Reader plug-in for Chrome doesn't support them, it's that Chrome doesn't support the Reader plug-in and uses its own viewer.
