Question

Stop Bookmarks display from showing when opening a new file

Recently, Adobe Reader has been displaing the Bookmarks screen whenever I open a PDF file.  This window takes up half the screen, requiring me to close it before proceeding.     I cannot find a way to have PDFs launch without the Bookmarks window comeing up to.  Please let me know how I can fix this.    Apparently, other readers have controls for such things, but I'd rather stay with Adobe if possible.

Thanks.

It's possible the file itself has a setting to show the Bookmarks pane when opened. If that's the case, there's nothing you can do about that in Reader, unless you tick the option to remember the last view settings when reopening documents, then close the Bookmarks pane manually, close the file and then re-open it.
