Switch back to tabs after cascade/tile

After switching from tabs to cascade or tile viewing, how can I switch all open documents back to tabs?

I know that I can drag them one by one, but when there are many open documents that can be quite tedious.

TIA

Hi there,

Hope you're doing well and thanks for reaching out.

There isn’t a single-click option in Acrobat to switch all open documents back to tabbed view once they’ve been arranged in cascade or tile mode. You would need to drag them back to the tabbed view one at a time.

However, you can quickly restore tabbed viewing for future documents by going to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K) > General > Open documents as new tabs in the same window, and then restarting Acrobat. This ensures that all documents will open as tabs moving forward.

I understand how helpful it would be to have a “Restore all to tabs” option, You may also share your feedback with our product team https://adobe.ly/4n7rCAO for consideration in future updates.

Hi Tia,

Hope you are doing well.

After switching from tabs to cascade/tile view, there's no direct way of going back or switching back to tab view.

This needs to be done manually.

Thanks.
