Hi,

I have a document with a link to open a phone app with tel:phonenumber.

Adobe Reader DC pops up with the standard window asking if I want to allow or block the access to the web site link (tel:...)
I click allow, Nothing appends, and the window pops up again each time, without opening the phone app.

It works with Adobe Reader Pro…
Any clue?

    Hello Jiesse,

We're sorry for the trouble you had, are you trying to open the PDF on Adobe Reader Desktop application or on a mobile device with Adobe Reader mobile app?

Is it a Mac/Windows machine or an Android/iOS mobile device and what is the version?

Assuming you are referring to Acrobat Pro as there is no such Adobe product "Adobe Reader Pro".

Adobe Reader is a freeware application for Desktop and Mobile app.

Acrobat Pro is for the desktop application.

What kind of hyperlinks do you have in your PDF documents?

    • Go to a page view (within the same document)
    • Open a web page
    • Open a file

Acrobat Reader mobile apps (for iOS, Android) support the first two types only, whereas Acrobat Reader desktop app supports all three types.

Make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed, check for any pending updates from help>check for updates(for desktop application), reboot the machine after updating Adobe Reader.

To allow access to all URLs, select Allow PDF Files To Access All Web Sites. Navigate to Edit>Preferences>Trust Manager>Click Change Settings to specify the default behavior for accessing the Internet from PDFs.

Select Remember My Action For This Site when you get a prompt to allow or block a URL. This reply adds the URL to this list.

We're here to help, just need more info.

    Thanks,

    Anand Sri.
