"The application “Adobe Acrobat Reader DC” can’t be opened"

I clicked on the link you provided for downloading Acrobat Cleaner, but it was to download both Acrobat Reader DC and Acrobat Cleaner. When the download started I was asked some questions on future use and when I answered them it showed that I am downloading Acrobat Creative Cloud as well. When the download was almost done the box appeared that the download of Acrobat Reader DC cannot be completed and asked me if I wanted to uninstall it or continue with installing Acrobat Creative Cloud. I clicked Uninstall, but Creative Cloud was installed anyway. When I tried to open a PDF document the message appeared that Acrobat Reader DC is not my default program, but that I can open with Acrobat DC. I chose Acrobat DC as mu default program and my PDF files open now. However I still have the Acrobat Reader DC that I downloaded yesterday in my Applications and the old Acrobat Reader DC in Trash. I don’t see Acrobat Cleaner. I am not planning to subscribe to any of the paid Adobe programs that appeared in my account.

What should I do now? It’s all very confusing. Please help.

Hi Marcin Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described you are getting the error, 'The application Adobe Acrobat Reader DC can’t be opened' Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try to open a different PDF and check. As you have moved the application to trash and installed a new one and still not able to get it worked. Please remove the application using the Acrobat Cleaner Tool https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html , reboot the computer once and reinstall the application using the link https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and then try to open the document and check.
