I wonder, have you been opening many attachments? If so just quit Reader and restart it.

Well, that's an unusual error. It sort of means Acrobat has run out of files, including invisible files. I wonder if this is a file you have signed? I've seen the error where a file was signed many many times (which is a huge mistake many people make).
