The word "publish"

I wanted to save my Word document as a .pdf file, so I went to "Save as" in Word, then scrolled down the line to .pdf.  When Adobe Acrobat Reader DC came up, there was a check box that was checked which said, "Open file after publishing."  Since it was already checked, I left it, but now I need to know if the document got published somewhere?  On the left of that, it also stated, "Optimize for: Standard. Publishing online and printing."  I didn't want to publish it anywhere.  Have I made a major goof?  Please help.
