This Document Cannot be printed - Switching to Legal

Having a very strange issue going on. When we go to print a document in Adobe, select properties and advanced to switch to legal paper, we get the error that the Document cannot be printed. If we go back into advanced and make no changes and simply select yes until we are back to the intial print screen  and select print, it will print with no issues.

Hi there

The planned update for Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC version 21.07.20099  is now available. Please update the application from the help menu > Check for updates  and reboot the computer once.

You may also download the patch manually from the link https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/ReleaseNotesDC/index.html  and see if that works for you.

For more information about the new release please check the help page https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/adobe-acrobat-and-reader-october-21-updates-are-l...

The update didn't fix the issue for me. I have multiple files I can demonstrate with in different ways.

Hi there

We are sorry to hear that. Would you mind sharing a small video recording of the steps you are doing. Please take help from the help page - https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/sharing-pdfs.html

Also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there and check.

Hi There,

Thanks for providing the details regarding the issue here.

We're working on providing a permanent fix for the same.

In the meanwhile, Instead of changing the page size from PrintProperties, one can change from 'Page Setup' from bottom left corner in the PrintMenu; then the PDF can be printed to a greater size as well without any error observed

Please feel free to reach us anytime.

Regards,
Swapnil Srivastava

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. As described you are unable to print the PDF when changing the paper size to legal. We need some more information for a better understanding:

- Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

- What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader you are using? To check the version go to help > About Acrobat and make sure you have application updated to version 21.07.20091. Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer.

- What is the make and model of the printer? Please try to update the printer driver/firmware and see if that helps.

You may also checkout the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/troubleshoot-pdf-printing-acrobat-reader.html and see if that works.

Regards

Amal

Thanks for the reply.

-This is happening with any PDF and only in Adobe Reader DC. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. If I print in foxit or chrome pdf viewer and switch to Legal there is no issues. If I set the printer preference to via Control Panel to legal its prints no problem, and if I switch it from legal to letter it will print.  If the preference is default to letter and I go in and select legal it gives the error. If we go in again to verify its set to legal, it will print.

- We have the most update to date version of adobe

- We use a variety of Kyocera printers and all drivers/firmwire are up to date.
