Hi

Need help..... I am using a laptop Win 7 which I previously downloaded with Adobe 9. Wanted to change it to DC Reader but during the updating process, Adobe 9 was deleted and the application kept telling me a newer version is installed. Tried the Adobe Cleanup application but it still keep popping up that message.

Any suggestion?

Thanks a million in advance.

    Hi,

Could you please let us know your OS?

Similar issue is seen on OS Win 7 if SP1 is not installed. If you are on Win 7, ensure you are on OS greater than Win 7 SP1.

If you are on OS Win 8.1, please ensure following Microsoft Updates are applied : https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2919355/windows-rt-8-1-windows-8-1-and-windows-se rver-2012-r2-update-april-201

If you are still facing this issue, can you see if you can install Microsoft Universal C Runtimes as described here - https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows

and, then try installing Reader DC. Let us know if this resolves your issue.

    Thanks,

    Karan

    Hi Karan

    Thanks for the reply.

I am currently running on Win 7 Home premium. I believe that won't be SP1, right? Therefore, do I still need to install MS Universal C Runtimes?

    Thanks.

If you could, please update your Win 7 to latest Service Pack version. Post that you will be able to install the runtimes required to run Acrobat Reader DC. You can also check your windows version: Click Start – RUN , type “winver” and press enter.
