Troubleshooting printing with comments

I following the directions in this document to try and print with comments. Print comments | Adobe Acrobat, Reader  I've triple checked that every box is correctly checked or unchecked in settings and that I'm printing the "Document and Markups". The comments don't show up in my print preview, and of course they also don't show when the document is actually printed. Is there another step that I'm missing?
