Trying to open a PDF

I'm trying to open a PDF and it says Java script needs to be enabled.  Java script is enabled and I have adobe as my default.

    Where is the pdf file? Online, or on your computer? How are you trying to open it? What version of Reader? What OS?

    The PDF is online.  Its on my works extranet.  I only have trouble opening PDF from them.  I have a mac OS Sierra using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

    What happens if you copy the file over to your local machine then open Reader and use File>Open to open the file?
