Trying to retrieve comments and highlighted sections

Hello, 

I have recieved a year ago a book manuscript that needed commenting, revision through PDF. 

I have worked on the PDF file for weeks with Adobe Acrobat reader DC, always adding comments and highlithing sections to be revised.  After I finished working on the manuscript I kept it for 9 months without openning it. 

Today, I tried to retrieve the PDF file in order to share it but couldn't see any of my comments and highligths anymore. 

I am sure I have saved them whenever I worked on it, hence why I was able to continue working on it for  two months. 

I need help: How can I retrieve my previous work?

Hey Mariam,

 

Sorry to hear about the trouble.

As shared above, the file on which you have been worked up on doesn't have all the comments and highlights added to it. We would like to know-

1- Where exactly did you save that file? Is it uploaded on cloud or saved locally on your computer. 

2-  While adding comment and highlights, was your file synced and adapted latest changes? Do you have any copy on Document Cloud web: https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/ please check here. Check once again if you have your file's other copies saved somewhere? 

 

We need a bit more information to understand the issue clearly.

    Akanchha, I received the file via my email.

    I would go to my email and open the manuscript from my email directly. I neved downloaded it on my computer.

    When I needed to work on it, I opened the file from my email and worked on it.  I always saved the latest changes on the file before logging out of my email account.  

    It worked fined for a couple of months hence why I was surprised to not see my additional contribution to the file anymore.  

    The only copy of the file is on my email account.

    When you open the file from the email the file is saved in a temp folder on your system.
