I’ve tried multiple times to download Reader to my new Surface Pro 11 and whichever way I try it ends up with “Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL”. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Hello @Redlife69

I hope you are doing well, and thank you for reaching out. We’re sorry for the trouble you had.

Please restart the machine once, check for any pending OS updates, install them, and restart the Surface Pro again. If you tried installing the Reader, remove all the downloaded files. Then use the Acrobat Cleaner tool to remove any corrupt installation files. Restart the Surface Pro.

Connect to a different network type, use a different browser, and download the setup of Acrobat Reader from the direct download link: https://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

See this article for more information: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/download-install/apps/system-requirements/apps-compatibility-copilot.html

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

Thanks for this, but after following the instructions to the letter I get the exact same result “Acrobat failed to load its Core DLL”.

Hello @Redlife69

Thank you for sharing the details. For testing purposes, please create a new test user profile with full admin rights, and ensure that the user profile is updated with the latest available operating system. Install Acrobat Reader from the direct link and check.

If the issue continues, please collect the logs and share them with us for further investigation. To collect the logs, please refer to this article on collecting all logs from the affected machine: Adobe Acrobat Diagnostics. Ensure that all the log options are selected when you run the diagnostic tool and reproduce the issue. Save the log file, and share the log ID with us for further investigation.

Regards,

Anand Sri.
