Unable to disable updates

I've set the windows registry, I've reinstalled with the "wizard" to disable updates, I've disabled the service entirely, and I've even deleted the updater exe from my harddrive.

There is no way to disable this stupid auto update system.

With this, and the fact that any pdf opened in reader DC gets uploaded to adobe first, I have uninstalled this pos and will never be using Adobe software again.
