I have been trying to download Reader on my Mac.  I keep getting an error message that says that the downloaded file is an invalid format.  This happens on Firefox and Safari.  I'm running OS 10.11.3.

    Hi Heatherr,

Sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused.

Could you please confirm, from where exactly you have been downloading the Adobe Reader? And the file that has been downloaded, what is the format for this?

You may use the following link to download the Reader- Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution and see if this helps.

If it doesn't, then you may try downloading the app (through the link given above) in root account- How to enable the root user on your Mac or change your root password - Apple Support  and check again.

    Regards,

    Akanchha

Where do you download from, and what is the name of the file you downloaded exactly?
