Unable to highlight the text in reader

hi I can not highlight in reader text is not photo or scan please help

    Thanks for the information.

    Acrobat Reader IX is quite older version, we would recommend to install the latest version of Reader and check with that.

    You can update the existing one or can install the latest through Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

    Hi Ornita6237056,

    Please help us with more information, what exactly happens when you are trying to highlight the text?

    As you have mentioned that document is not a scan document or a image, so could you please check the same with other document?

    Also, what is the version of Acrobat Reader you are working on?

    Launch Reader go to Help> About Acrobat Reader>Check the version and also check for update.

    Thank you for your reply. my version is aacrobat reader 9 version 9.1.0.

    when i press tools i only have select and zoom; analysis and customize tools.

    when i open customize, i can see comment & markup toolbar which has highlight text and sticky note. when i put a check there and press ok nothing happens. this is correct for all my pdf including those that i made.

    would appreciate your countinued assitance.
