Unable to Open Files

Question

I installed Adobe Reader, but it won't open the pdf documents that I received previous to the installment. The documents usually came as attachments to Emails.

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

What happens when you try to open the PDF files, do you get any error message? If yes, please share the screenshot of the same for more clarity?

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

Also make sure you have the recent version 24.02.2089x installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

You may also try to turn off the protected mode for testing. Go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd+K) > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable protected mode at startup' Click OK and reboot the computer once.

Note: Please turn on the security after testing to avoid any security risk.
