I need an answer right away please.  Trying to open a probate court form.  Already installed the most recent version of reader.  Still not working.  I have a Mac but that shouldn't make a difference.  Appreciate feedback.  Thanks.

You can get PDFs to open outside of a browser a few different ways...

    1. Change your browser settings so it downloads PDFs instead of reading them...

For example in Firefox go to Tools > Options > Applications > scroll down to Portable Document Format and change from "Preview in Firefox" to either "Save File" or "Use Adobe Acrobat"

    2. Right click the PDF link from the browser and choose Save Link As...
This will download the PDF and allow you to open it with Acrobat (without changing browser settings)

    3. .zip the PDF before uploading to your site (if you want to do this for others viewing your site)
This will force a download of the .zip. The user will then have to unzip the file and can open in Acrobat if they like.

If a document is created as a pdf and it is saved in DropBox how is it not able to be opened in Adobe Acrobat DC. That seems to be counterproductive to the design of the software. I am frantically trying to get another company documents that are time sensitive and I can't even proof them before I send.

How do you get it to not open in the form of a browser. It by default opens in this manner.

Right-click on the link to the pdf, save it to your computer, open Reader then use File>Open to open the pdf file.

How are you trying to open it? What exactly happens when you try?
