Hi,

I have been having problem opening my PDF files in my email after a recent updates. My OS is Window 10.

First I was getting "fatal error has occurred"  "Can not connect to DDE server"  I uninstalled my existing version, restart my computer and reinstalled adobe acrobat reader. Problem still remained. .I was told in adobe support forum, to download a patch up program for the reader on my computer.

Now the fatal error message which was gone for a while is back now. File still wouldn't open.

When try  to open that PDF file I received using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (latest version), I am getting another error message saying - "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.".How ever same file when forwarded to a friend, he was able to open the file, telling me there is nothing wrong with the file.

Fourth time I uninstalled adobe acrobat reader and reinstalled. Now it gives me fatal error message but also when i click on PDF file symbol and try to open it, it flashes for a fraction of a second and dies but doesn't open .I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Need help.

Thanks,

V.S

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:

    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from

    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.
