Unable to reinstall Acrobat Reader on Windows 8

In the hope of solving a problem in my PC, I uninstalled the reader, but now I'm unable to reinstall it.

I got this page: https://get.adobe.com/it/reader/

from where I download the file: readerdc_it_xa_crd_install.exe

I click the file and than I follow the procedure.

The procedure tells me: “new version already installed”.

and then: “the installation of the program was not successful”.

I tried to install a previous version of Acrobat Reader, but the installation procedure ask me a serial number. (?)

Any suggestion?

I am grateful to you because I would have never been able to imagine by myself that Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Reader are not the same thing. I feel a little stupid for not having found this on the Adobe website, losing a day of work.

So, now I found an unknown link to download a 9.4 version of the Reader. It installed without trouble! I could always update it, but not immediately, for a while I would taste its pleasant interface.
