unable to save instead it save as the file and asks to select the location for every save i make to

We are sorry for the trouble. As described, you get the save as option when doing save.

Please go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable protected mode at startup' > Reboot the application and check.
