When I upgraded my Adobe, everything changed to PDF. All of my icons on my desktop are PDF.  How can I change back?. I do not want to have to go through the laborious task of convertibg each and every one of my documents back to word.  HELP!!

Then right-click one of the files and select Open With - Choose default program, and then select Word from the list. Make sure to tick the check-box to make it the default application for this file-type, and it should solve the problem.

Your documents were not converted to PDF. Reader is technically not even capable of doing that.

What happened, most likely, is that the default application used for that file type changed.
