I had adobe reader Dc 18 installed. I tried updating but failed to update. From the Advice in 'Trouble shooting installation' I uninstalled & tried to Download & install the latest version. But was unable to do so. It Installs & then states ' A Newer Version is Already Installed'. While I Do not have any installed.

Now I do Not even have My Older Version which was working very well!  I have windows 8.1 64 bit OS.

There is no support for free software from Adobe.  I ask because people have, over the years, shown all sorts of imaginative interpretations of "uninstall", many of which leave their system damaged. Hence, I ask you how you uninstalled. Forums work by people asking questions to discover how things are, how they got how they are and what you tried. Rarely, luckily, we identify the problem immediately and tell you what to do.

Clearly, though, we are not on the same wavelength and I will endeavour to waste no more of your time. I heartily recommend that if you want help in the forums that you answer ALL questions without taking it as an affront. Good luck.

I was asked to update, when trying to update till installing updates & registering program everything was going well, then Suddenly it Started Reverting & update did not install. hence as found an advice in 'Trouble Shooting Installing Update'  I Uninstalled the Program Via 'Uninstall Programs' from Windows- Programs & Features. Restarted the computer.again tried to install the latest program offered Via adobe website -2019....but could not install it. I finally managed to download the old DC. 2018.011.20058 full download link & have installed the Older version again. I have stopped Checking for Updates.

What is This? You Think it is Joke? As it is I can not Contact Adobe Directly for Support (Do not know nthe Reason for Such Secrecy!) Have to post a question & I get ridiculous, Silly answers in the form of Short Syllabus questions. Like-How did you uninstall it? Does it matter How one uninstalls a program? A Normal way to uninstall programs. ARE THERE SOME SPECIAL WAY of Uninstalling a Program??? Now Comes another Question Which is? My Reply to it is Which is WHAT? What are you Referring to? If Do not have the whereto information about a Problem, don't answer it. At least do Not Rub it in by asking questions (Silly,Useless,Unneeded) Am I Supposed TO GET The Answer to my problem; or Have I to ANSWER your questions?
